The City of Lights has a special way of capturing hearts, and for Fabrice and Wei-Shiuen, it became the backdrop for their unforgettable love story. Coming from French and Chinese backgrounds, they decided to tie the knot in true Parisian style – with a luxury wedding at Shangri-La Paris!
As a Paris wedding photographer, I’ve seen my fair share of stunning weddings, but this one had a unique charm that transcended borders. It wasn’t just about the iconic Eiffel Tower peeking through the windows of the Shangri-La (although, let’s be honest, that doesn’t hurt!), it was about the beautiful blend of French and Chinese cultures coming together in a heartwarming celebration.
Getting Ready for the Big Day at Shangri-La Paris
The day began with a flurry of activity at the Shangri-La. Wei-Shiuen, in a stunning white gown with delicate details, radiated joy as she got ready with her bridesmaids. The air buzzed with excitement and nervous anticipation, captured perfectly in the candid moments I documented. Fabrice, looking dapper in a classic tuxedo, couldn’t contain his smile as he awaited his bride-to-be.

A Beautiful Fusion of Traditions at the Shangri-La Ceremony
The ceremony itself, held in one of Shangri-La’s opulent historical rooms, was a beautiful fusion of traditions. Bilingual readings and personalized vows added a special touch, making sure everyone felt included in the couple’s special moment. Tears welled up in everyone’s eyes (mine included!), and laughter filled the room.
The celebration continued in another smaller, cozier room for the traditional Chinese tea ceremony between the bride and groom and their parents, while friends watched on.
Parisian Elegance Meets Timeless Joy at the Shangri-La Reception
The Shangri-La Paris, with its luxurious setting and impeccable service, provided the perfect ambiance for the evening. Guests from both sides of the family mingled, sharing stories and laughter, with the Eiffel Tower twinkling outside as a silent witness.
As a Paris wedding photographer, I love capturing these moments of connection – the warm welcome into their families, the lively toast by a childhood friend, the shy dance moves of an uncle after a few too many glasses of champagne. These are the details that tell the story of a wedding at Shangri-La Paris, a story that goes beyond the beautiful venue and transcends cultural differences.

Later in the evening, the dance floor became the center of attention. Fabrice and Wei-Shiuen opened the dance floor and soon everyone joined in.
A Parisian Fairytale Ends (But the Love Story Continues)
As the night drew to a close, and the last goodbyes were exchanged, there was a lingering feeling of pure happiness in the air. Fabrice and Wei-Shiuen’s wedding at Shangri-La Paris wasn’t just a celebration of their love, it was a testament to the power of love to bridge cultures and create lasting memories.
For me, as a Paris wedding photographer, it was a privilege to be a part of their story. Capturing the emotions, the laughter, and the joy of their special day is something I’ll always enjoy.
