Large Family Photo Session in Paris

When Jennifer told me that she was coming to Paris with her husband, her toddler AND her extended family, I thought, “oh boy! How are we going to do this?” Luckily, her little one was very calm and in a great mood (which still blows my mind, considering how far they travelled) and the rest of her family was a really fun and easy-going bunch.

We met early on a warm, golden morning right outside the Louvre. The light was perfect, the sky was clear, and everyone showed up looking like they had walked out of a magazine spread. Their coordinating outfits in burgundy and navy were spot-on. Those rich tones looked absolutely beautiful against the soft stone and classic arches of the Louvre courtyard. As a Paris family photographer, I see a lot of great outfit choices, but this one really stood out.

Organizing a photo session with a large extended family can sound intimidating at first, but this crew made it feel so easy. The grandparents were sweet and relaxed, the adult siblings were full of energy and inside jokes, and the little one? A total pro. She wandered, giggled, posed, and even gave us some spontaneous high-fives. Honestly, she made my job too easy.

The Louvre is one of my favourite spots for family photos in Paris, and this session reminded me why. There’s space to spread out, soft light in the early hours, and lots of architectural details that look amazing in photos. Plus, it’s surprisingly toddler-friendly with wide walkways and room to roam. Whether you’re a group of two or twenty, it just works.

If you’re planning a trip and thinking about booking a Paris family photographer, my advice is simple. Wear colours that make you feel good, choose a location that excites you, and don’t stress about having a perfect plan. Some of the best images come from letting things unfold naturally.

I’m so glad Jennifer reached out. Their session was the perfect mix of style, sunshine, and real connection, and I left feeling grateful to be a small part of their Paris adventure.
