Your prewedding photographer in paris

Congratulations, you’re getting married! And what better way to announce it to the world than to have a prewedding photo session in Paris. These photos should be true to your story and who you are, while capturing the gorgeous city around you!

Getting the perfect photos in Paris

That’s why, as a Paris prewedding photographer, my photo sessions are focused on the couple, their love, their emotion. Paris is a stunning background that compliments, but never overpowers the love story. That’s why my Paris prewedding sessions aren’t big productions, just me and my cameras. While I don’t pose my couples, I give them small prompts in order to make them comfortable and have fun. My favourite photos have movement, laughter, dancing and a lot of love!

What should you look for in a

Paris prewedding photographer

While most Paris prewedding sessions require a professional photographer that understands light, composition and their camera, prewedding sessions in Paris require some extra logistical knowledge to get you between the best spots in the city while avoiding crowds and making sure that you get stunning images.

How do you get the

perfect prewedding photos?

If you’ve been looking around at some other Paris photographers already, you’ll notice many different styles, from fine art to dark & moody to high fashion. As a Paris prewedding photographer, it was important for me to find a style that I love: joy, refinement, movement … all of these ideas are important to me and are reflected in my style.

The Experience

Another key aspect of style that plays a big role in a photographer’s portfolio is the experience behind the session. What does that even mean?

Well, it’s about the preparation beforehand (so that I can get to know you, your story, and all the details that are special to you), and our interaction that allow me to capture the real you with all of your excitement and happiness.

Your Paris Prewedding

I want to make your prewedding photography session as easy and enjoyable as possible, so here are a few tips to get the most out of your session.

The Details

Your Photographer

As I mentioned earlier, hiring a prewedding photographer is the most important part of your decision. If you’re on my website, you’re considering me (yay!) but let’s make sure that we’re a good fit. Look over my portfolio and if you can picture yourself in these photos, then go for it!

Don’t forget the most important point – availability! As a Paris prewedding photographer, I’m often booked many months in advance, so try to plan ahead (but if this was a last-minute idea, don’t worry, it never hurts to ask about availability).

Communication is key. Ask lots of questions, share your ideas and tell me aaaall about your details: the dress, the jewelry, and anything else you’re planning.

Location

You have so much choice for locations for your prewedding photos in Paris. The hardest part will be deciding where to go. The architecture, the cafés, the historical streets…this is one photogenic city! We will work together to find the best places and route so that you get the most amount of photo time (rather than transportation time). We can include the must-haves, like the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, and Palais Royal, but if you’re looking for something different, we can also get stunning shots at the Alexandre III bridge, Montmartre, Luxembourg gardens…the list goes on.

The time of day is another important factor you’ll need to consider. I highly recommend early morning sessions soon after sunrise for 2 reasons. First, the light is soft and beautiful compared to harsh midday sun. Secondly, the city is fairly empty of tourists in the early morning, giving you more privacy and better images (no one likes a neon yellow jogger photobombing their prewedding photos).

Hair & Makeup

Engagement photos are the perfect opportunity to pamper yourself! After all, you’ve come all this way to Paris, so why not add a little extra glam to your session with professional hair and makeup. I can recommend several English-speaking hair & makeup artists that are experts at creating a variety of looks, from natural to dramatic, that are always photogenic.

Wardrobe

The age-old question of what is wear is something that you’ll have to consider carefully for your Paris engagement photo session. You’ll have these photos forever, and they will be seen by all of your wedding guests, so it’s important that your wardrobe choice reflects who you are. No matter what you wear, let your personality shine through so that you feel beautiful and confident in your engagement photos.

You’re in Paris, so why not dress up as you make your way through historic streets and romantic parks. This isn’t a city known for great weather, so have a backup plan in case it gets rainy or chilly! Clear umbrellas are my go-to solution and they always look cute in photos. I’m happy to give some outfit advice before your trip.

    What is a prewedding session?

A prewedding session is a photo shoot done before the wedding, usually at a different location to the venue. It’s especially popular with couples who want beautiful portraits in Paris as part of a destination wedding experience. Think of it as a longer, more relaxed shoot where you can take your time, try different outfits, and explore a few iconic Paris locations together.

The two overlap a lot, but prewedding sessions tend to be longer and more styled. Couples often wear their wedding outfits, and the goal is portrait-quality photos with a cinematic feel. An engagement session is usually a bit more casual and done earlier in the planning process. Either works beautifully in Paris, and both are great ways to get comfortable in front of the camera.

Many couples schedule theirs a day or two before the wedding while already in Paris, which is a lovely way to ease into the trip. Others come to Paris months earlier specifically for the session. Either works well. I’m happy to help you figure out the best timing based on your travel plans, your wedding date, and what you want to do with the photos afterward.

Some couples wear their actual wedding outfits, others choose something slightly different, like a second dress or a more relaxed suit. Whatever you choose, make sure it photographs well against Parisian backgrounds. Soft colours, flowing fabrics, and classic silhouettes tend to work beautifully. I’m happy to weigh in on outfits before your session if you want to share some options.

Most prewedding sessions run between two and three hours, giving us time to cover a few locations and include an outfit change if you’d like. I also offer half-day or full-day sessions for couples who want a more comprehensive Paris experience. We’ll plan the session based on your vision, the locations you love, and what you want to walk away with.
