Looking for a photographer in Paris? Here’s what you need to know

Are you planning a trip to Paris and thinking about booking a photoshoot? Whether you’re celebrating your honeymoon, an anniversary, or just want to capture your time in the city, finding the right photographer in Paris can feel daunting (especially if you think that you need to search in French, but don’t worry, there are plenty of English-speaking photographer here…like me!) I’ve made a quick guide to help you understand what to look for when searching for a Paris photographer.

Who are the best photographers in Paris?

You’ll find many talented photographers in Paris, each with different styles and approaches. Some focus on candid moments, while others lean into editorial posing or romantic classics by the Eiffel Tower. The best photographer for you will be someone whose editing style you love and who makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera.

How do I book a photoshoot in Paris?

Booking a Paris photoshoot is simple once you know what you want. Most photographers offer packages based on the length of the session, the number of edited images, and the locations you’d like to cover. It helps to book at least a month in advance if you want a sunrise slot at popular spots like Trocadéro.

What should I wear for a Paris photoshoot?

Soft neutrals, pastels, or rich jewel tones look lovely against Paris backdrops. Flowy dresses, linen shirts, and comfortable shoes (with the option to change into heels) can make your session easier. Avoid heavy logos and neon colours (they tend to reflect the colour onto your face and no one wants to look neon green!) When you’re booking a session with me, we have time for 1 outfit change per location.

What if it rains on the day of my photoshoot?

Paris weather can be moody, but cloudy days often give beautiful soft light. If it rains, you can use a clear umbrella or move to covered locations like Palais Royal or under the bridges along the Seine. I know it’s hard to reschedule when you’re here for only a few days, but we’ll do our best to figure it out for your session.

How long until I get my photos?

I deliver photos within 2 weeks (unless it’s for a wedding, in which case it is 6 weeks). For proposals, I give a handfull of photos the same day so that you can make the big announcement to family and friends, followed by the full gallery within 2 weeks.

Do Paris photographers speak English?

Many photographers in Paris work with English-speaking visitors daily, so you don’t need to worry about communication during your session. I grew up in the English-speaking side of Canada so English is my native language.

Can I bring friends or family to the session?

Absolutely. Many visitors bring their kids or friends along for photoshoots. Just let me know in advance so I can plan posing and timing accordingly.

How much does a Paris photoshoot cost?

Pricing varies depending on the number of hours and locations that you are interested in. One important thing to remember is that the Eiffel Tower is actually far away from most locations, so travel time needs to be planned into the session (don’t worry, after 10 years of photography, I can figure out the logistics without a problem).

Final tips for choosing a Paris photographer

Booking a photographer in Paris is not just about the photos; it’s about having a relaxed, enjoyable experience that feels easy and fun. If you want a photoshoot that feels like a natural extension of your trip, take time to find a photographer who makes you feel comfortable and whose style feels like a match for you.
